After 20+ years in education, I have seen how parents can hugely impact their children’s learning. Parents that focus on day to day interactions with their children and the world around them, create children that are learners. Conversations and interactions within our daily busy lives can be the stepping stones that our kids need to succeed. But how can we make it all work, when we are so busy with life? If we can focus on one activity a week that can take place during our daily routines, it can change our children’s lives.
I have a Bachelor of Science in Education and a Master in Educational Technology. I’ve been working in the education system since 1990 having taught multiple grade levels. Then in 2000, I became certified to be a school librarian. I’ve been in the library since then. It’s this position that has given me the opportunity to work with parents and to see how they want to be involved in their child’s education. Many of them don’t know what to do and they are so busy with life that they can’t find the extra time. I enjoy working with groups of parents to help them incorporate educational activities into their daily schedules. That is where the need for this site came from.
